Houses at St. Joseph’s
At St. Joseph's, all children are split in to four houses named after important Saints: St. Francis, St. Jude, St. George and Mother Teresa. Each house elects two captains from Key Stage 2. Children meet in their houses regularly to discuss issues that have arisen, school events and improvements which they feel should be made. The house captains lead these discussions with the findings
recorded. All pupils are encouraged to participate in these meetings. Houses also participate in events such as book quizzes, dance contests and cooking sessions. We also take part in sports day in house teams and wear their house colours (see text below). A mosaic displayed in our hall, which we all made a part of, portrays each of our four saints.
