Supporting Charities at St. Joseph’s
"Understanding the needs of others in the local and wider community is a central feature of the school. Pupils demonstrate the understanding that they should help people who have less than them." Section 48
Through Catholic Social Teaching we learn the principles of solidarity - meaning we are all part of God’s family so we should seek to support others in any way that we can. The principle of Preferential Option for the Poor means that we share, especially with those who have the least.
Most recently, the school raised money for Place2Be, a children's mental health charity, held a Coffee Morning for Macmillan, supported Cafod and supported Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children. For our Harvest Charity we supported Porchlight, a local homeless charity, by donating food and toiletries.
