Fundraising at St. Joseph’s
As a Catholic School, we recognise the importance of helping others. Each year, we support a number of charities. The two main fundraising periods are for our chosen Harvest festival charity and our Lenten appeal. We also mark Children in Need and Red Nose Day as well as Advent fundraising for charities such as Pilgrim’s Hospice.
Children take an active role in raising money for charity and always take part with enthusiasm and generosity. Prefects and house captains also organise events such as cake sales and bring and buy sales to boost funds.
Here is a selection of the charities we have supported over the years:
Cafod
Help for Heroes
Send a Cow
Water Aid
Mercyships
Macmillan Cancer Support
Cancer Research
Baby Basics
Dover Soup Kitchen
Annually/Bi-annually:
The Royal British Legion
Children in Need
Comic Relief
This harvest we are supporting Catching Lives, a charity who work with the homeless in Canterbury and East Kent.
